Talk:HumaniSites

From Humanisteurope.org Wiki

Let's use it like that:

alpha-3 - country name - [link Site name] (lang)

ITA - Italy - Centro delle Culture di Trieste (ita)

with

alpha-3 = main country of the site, in 3-car. code, ISO 3166-1 alpha 3, as in http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1

country name = corresponding english country name, or continent or "international"

[link Site name] = just that, with the name in the site's own language, no need to repeat the address, you get it if you copy the text (it's invisible, but it's there)

lang = the 3-car. codes for the languages of the site, ISO 639-2-Bibliographic language code, as in http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/IG/ert/iso639.htm

It is also recommended to use capitals for countries codes and non-capital for language codes.

Note that we often omited the language of HP sites, since they are usually "single languaged" but some are not.

It was also an intention to sort the lists by alphabetic order of country code, so that one can find a site easily (either when just searching or when adding one).

It's also interesting to use "named caracter entities" when possible : é instead of é as in http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/sgml/entities.html#h-24.2.1

Please, if anyone knows about named caracter entities for other caracters than latin 1, please let me know! Thanks.
