Patents were first created to publicise an invention with the objective of its implementation for the benefit of all. This intention has long since been abandoned to a strategy of blocking other inventions and get a rent on various implementations. This speculation is simply blocking progress for the benefit of a few. More precisely in the case of software patents, there is no need, no “legislation hole” since the copyrights perfectly protect the writers rights.

As a first element, we have the position we took against European software patents. This position should be detailled and maybe completed. It contains the main lines of

overseas main companies to rule the global market this will be linked with OpenSource economy

biggest companies to rule their market place by threatening growing small businesses there must be something about small and big busyness in the economics secretary

a threat to the development of standards and common habits in software development that usually benefits the end-users

wide open doors to the privatization of more and more cultural production of humanity
